Do I need insurance or a license to ride an electric scooter?

This depends on which electric scooter you choose. If you go for an electric scooter, that operates like an electric bike, with pedals and has an power rating of less than 200w then you can use on the roads without a license or insurance.

If you have a mobility type scooter than it is seen by the RTA usually as an electric wheelchair and therefore should be used on the pavement.

The stand up ‘fun’ electric scooters are not designed for public places.

How far can I go on an electric scooter before I need to recharge?

Again this depends entirly on which type of electric scooter you decide to go for. The modern scooters, can go up to 30km an hour and you might get 30km from a charge. But it really does depend on the model, age, your weight and the terrain.

How fast do electric scooters go?

As the question above states, it depends on a number of factors. It would be impossible to suggest an average speed. If you get yourself the bäst el-scooter there is, you can enjoy some good speed.
